In December 2007 the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA) agreed to extend the assistance to the Republic Geodetic Authority (RGA) of Serbia towards improving the capacity to efficiently execute its obligations. The Norwegian grant shall support implementation project on the Real Estate Cadastre (REC) by establishing capacity to produce data in digital form needed for REC projects. The grant shall also support European integration by enhancing the capacity to establish geographic information in compliance with the EU Inspire directive on harmonisation and integration of geographic information across national borders. Norwegian Mapping and Cadastre Authority - Statens Kartverk (SK) and RGA signed the Agreement to extend the support for the "RGA-SK Twinning Project 2008 - phase 3" on 10.09.2008. The Norwegian project represents initiative for establishing National Spatial Data Infrastructures (NSDI) in Serbia. One of the aims of Project is enhancing the capacity of RGA to actively participate in European integration and harmonisation of geodetic and geographic information services. For this purpose there will be established an Internet web portal for improving the access to RGA datasets to ensure equal and timely information to all. Geospatial information, which is provided by RGA and other stakeholders, will be accessible for users and it will enable them to easily share core data sets according ISO and other international standards. A major task within this framework is to establish the first version of a Serbian National Spatial Data Web portal. |
